Research Products Builders Kleen Scale Remover 5 Litre (CHRC-15005 / 165158)
Builders Kleen provides a safe and environmentally friendly solution to clean brick walls. It is an organic salt and, as such, is non-corrosive, non-fuming, and rated only as a mild irritant towards people, a genuinely lower hazard profile compared to traditional acid-based descalers. However, in the presence of reactive deposits such as calcium carbonate and calcium sulphate, Builders Kleen behaves just like hydrochloric acid, rapidly dissolving scale and calcium deposits.
Builders Kleen is fast acting and easy to use, with no foul odours during application. It is a powerful descaler that removes rust and iron deposits, and is excellent for brick cleaning and the removal of excess grout and mortar from newly laid tile and brickwork. It is safe on 316 stainless steel, copper, and brass, giving genuine flexibility across mixed-material job sites.
Do not use on acid sensitive surfaces such as marble, terrazzo, or limestone, as it will etch these surfaces. Do not use on nylon or at temperatures greater than 60°C.
For descaling, rust and iron removal, or removal of excess grout or mortar, dilute 1 part Builders Kleen to 3 parts water (250ml of Builders Kleen to make 1 litre of solution). Brush or pour the solution onto the surface and allow it to penetrate before rinsing.
