Actichem Fire Fix is a specialist fire restoration detergent designed for delicate and water-cleanable surfaces. Its solvent-free and caustic-free formulation safely removes soot, oily residues, and smoke damage from painted surfaces, lacquered wood, carpet, ceilings, soft furnishings, and clothing, making it ideal for fire restoration work in sensitive environments where harsher chemicals could cause damage.
The smart, solvent-free chemistry cuts through oily carbon soils and fire residues without harming delicate finishes, while its mild alkaline pH and low VOC content make it suitable for use in enclosed and inhabited spaces. Deep penetration lifts micro-particles from porous surfaces, helping eliminate odours at the source rather than simply masking them. The formula is also suitable for ceiling tiles, air conditioning vents, filtration lines, and olefin carpet restoration, and leaves a residue-free finish with no sticky build-up or need for aggressive rinsing.
Fire Fix is safe and ideal for practically all water cleanable surfaces, including painted walls, ceilings, carpets, soft furnishings, lacquered wood, metals, tiles, lino, natural stone, and concrete. Precaution and pre-testing should be taken on painted surfaces, as heat and certain soil types may destabilise coating integrity, and on soft non-ferrous metals to check for chemical sensitivity. Nylon fibres treated with stain resistant protection may need to have protector reapplied after treatment.
For carpet cleaning, add 15 to 30ml per litre of water (1:32 to 1:64) via pump-up sprayer depending on soil conditions. For painted walls and delicate surfaces, add 50 to 100ml per litre of water (1:10 to 1:20), increasing to 200ml per litre for heavy soiling. For garments and loose furnishings, mix a soak solution of 500ml to 1 litre of Fire Fix per 10 litres of warm water. Oxyboost can be added for enhanced odour control and stain removal in ceiling cleaning applications. Always pre-test in an inconspicuous area for fibre and dye sensitivity, and avoid use on stain resistant carpets except in genuine restoration situations.
