Agar First Base Floor Sealer 5 Litre (FIR5)
Agar First Base is a superior polish that gives floors a clear, protective coating, shielding them from the harsh effects of traffic wear, spillages, and weathering. It is a clear, non-slip base-coat sealer designed for application to vinyl, timber, terrazzo, porous stone, and concrete floors, and is only to be used directly in contact with the bare floor surface.
First Base forms a clear film of tough acrylic inside the surface of the floor, keeping dirt and spillages out and stopping dust from rising out of concrete. As an excellent base coating, it fills the porosity in the floor, providing a smooth, even base for topcoats to spread over, which dramatically improves the life of the overall film. Being water-based, First Base is odourless, non-flammable, and environmentally responsible, and it sets faster than solvent-based sealers, meaning floors can return to service within hours rather than days. It has excellent adhesion, stops surface dusting on concrete, and offers high resistance to UV light, making it suitable for both interior and exterior applications, though it is not suitable for outdoor timber decks exposed to rain. First Base is an excellent choice for food storage areas where solvents are not permitted.
Coverage is substantial, at 30 to 40m² per litre depending on floor porosity. Apply 1 to 2 coats using a mop, brush, or roller directly onto the bare floor surface before applying topcoat sealers.
