Research Products Descaler & Rust Remover 5 Litre (CHRC-240015A / 165208)
Descaler is formulated to tackle rust and heavy calcium or lime build-up, deposits that are notoriously hard to remove and typically require strong chemicals and agitation where possible. Rust is unsightly and typically indicates protracted moist conditions, often on unsealed surfaces where it may have penetrated deep beneath the visible surface, meaning chemicals need time to properly break down the stain before removal and neutralising can take place.
Once the surface is cleaned, it needs to be neutralised to stop the chemical process continuing, which could otherwise cause damage over time. Always test in an inconspicuous area first to check for surface damage, including colour change, metal change, glaze change, or fibre change, as it is sometimes necessary to accept minor surface colour change as a trade-off for removing a noticeable rust stain. Note that some descalers are not suitable for food environments, so always check suitability for the specific surface and setting before use.
