Fibreloc is a new type of fluorocarbon protector that uses new fibre locking technology to dramatically improve the bond strength to both upholstery and carpet fibres. Based on a fluorine compound that creates water and oil-repellent effects, it helps prevent wet spills from becoming ugly, permanent stains, and its high beading water repellency gives spills the chance to be easily wiped away before they are absorbed into the fibre.
Fibreloc may be applied as an aftermarket product for new carpet, rugs, and upholstery using a simple hand pump spray or motorised flat jet sprayer, and can be applied to clean, wet, or dry carpet. It performs strongly on nylon 6, nylon 66, and wool fibres, and its unique technology also provides strong adhesion to polypropylene (olefin), 100% polyester, polyamide, polyester cotton fabrics, and linen. Carpets treated with Fibreloc show improved maintenance cleaning effectiveness over time, and because of its lubricating effect, Fibreloc-treated carpets are more resistant to abrasive wear and feel softer underfoot.
For best results, follow up cleaning with WoolSafe approved extraction presprays only, and avoid high alkaline in-tank extraction detergents above pH 8.5, as these can reduce the performance of both Fibreloc and the carpet fibre. Fibreloc is supplied as a concentrate, diluted 1 part to 4 parts water for dry carpet, or 1 part to 2 parts water for damp carpet or upholstery that has just been wet cleaned or dry cleaned, with no need to wait for the fibre to dry before spraying. The formula is APEO-free, ready-to-use, non-flammable, non-hazardous, and solvent free, and has no effect on the flammability rating of fire retardant treated fibres or woven fabrics.
